About TwoCan Clay |
||
TwoCan Clay is Janet Pitcher's endevour to promote fun and whimsical designs to the public. She has been playing with polymer clay for over 10 years. Her work has been showcased on DIY Jewelry, the Carol Duvall Show and in many print publications as well. Janet works to create the detailed designs involved in her shaped millefiori beads. The clay is blended to create new color palettes. That clay is used to build complex canes which are then reduced by hand to the size desired for each bead. The canes are then sliced, formed, cured, drilled, sanded and buffed to the desired finish. The resulting jewelry is accented with beautiful lampwork glass, semi-precious stones and precious metal beads to achieve the finished piece. Janet enjoys creating new designs and turning the colorful beads into wearable art. Janet began her interest in art at an early age growing up in an artistic family. Although she always wanted to be a fashion designer, she studied for a career in retail buying, receiving a BS in Business, marketing. After many years in retail and outside sales, she discovered Polymer Clay as a hobby. When her friends began to ask to buy her jewelry, her journey into a new business began as a jewelry designer. Janet is an active leader of the San Diego Polymer Clay Guild as well as a member of the National Polymer Clay Guild. In addition to selling her jewelry designs and beads in both wholesale and retail environments, Janet also offer classes for all ages and experience levels. |
